Fire Prevention Week - October 6th to 12th, 2024
This year’s FPW campaign, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™” strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.
School Contest
The Manitoba Firefighters’ Burn Fund, Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs, the Manitoba government and the Office of the Fire Commissioner is holding a Fire Prevention Week Children’s Contest for a chance to win a $200.00 Gift Card and fire and life safety educational material for the winners classmates and teacher.
It’s EASY!! All you need to do is is make a home fire escape plan with everyone who lives with you in your home, showing two ways out of each room. Don’t forget to practice your plan!
Once you’ve done your home fire escape plan, complete the Children’s Contest Entry Form and send both to:

Contest is open to all Manitoba children Kindergarden to Grade 4. One winner per grade level will be randomly selected.
